Polarised light micrograph of crystals of sodium indomethacin trihydrate, which constitutes the anti- arthritic drug Osmosin. Osmosin was manufactured by Merck, Sharp & Dohme & introduced onto the market in 1982. It was temporarily withdrawn in September 1983 after reports of severe side effects & three deaths associated with its use. Magnification X10 (at 35mm size).
