Sulphur crystals. Sulphur (chemical symbol S) is a nonmetallic yellow solid at room temperature. This monoclinic crystalline shape is produced when sulphur crystallises slowly out of solution. Sulphur is used in the manufacture of sulphuric acid, black gunpowder, the vulcanization of rubber and as a fungicide.
