Sulphur deposits. Natural deposits of crystalline sulphur (yellow needle-like crystals) in a volcanic area. These monoclinic crystals of sulphur are formed when hydrogen sulphide gas from the volcanic vents condenses in the cooler air. This photograph was taken in Waiotapu, New Zealand, part of the Rotorua volcanic area.
