Electron flow. Computer model of electron flow in a 2-dimensional electrical landscape. The pattern observed depends upon both the initial conditions and the electric potential. Electrons enter from top centre and spread out over the landscape. The colours show the initial launch angle. Successive electrons overwrite previous paths. This creates the 3-dimensional effect at the start point. The branching effect is caused by the bumpy landscape (electric potential) in which the electrons move. This model of electron flow was created as an artwork by Professor Eric Heller.
