James Monroe's Law Office in Fredericksburg, Virginia. James Monroe (1758-1831), who would be the fifth President of the United States (1817-1825), used this structure as a law office from 1786 to 1789, after studying law with Thomas Jefferson. It is now The James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library.
