Candidiasis, a yeastlike infection caused by the fungus Candida albicans, on the genitalia of a young child. The infection occurs in moist areas of the body such as the mouth, respiratory tract, folds of skin and the vagina. The popular name for candidiasis is thrush & an old but still in use medical term is moniliasis. It may treated with antibiotic drugs.
