Suesippus (c.408 BCE - c.339 BCE) Greek philosopher, Seusippus was the nephew of Plato. When Plato died Suesippus inherited the Academy. However, his philosophy took a different direction from Plato. He rejected Plato's Theory of Forms and argued that to know something one must know how it differs from other things, it isn't enough just to know of it in isolation. This engraving first appeared in The History of Philosophy by Thomas Stanley, published in London in 1656.
