Hiroshima memorial. This is the 'Memorial Tower to the Mobilized Students', and forms part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, in Hiroshima, Japan. This memorial park, which was opened in 1954, contains many memorials commemorating the victims of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima by US forces on 6 August 1945, towards the end of World War II. This bomb killed over 70-80,000 people instantly, and left many more injured and dying. This memorial, for mobilized upper school students killed while working in the city during the bombing, was completed in 1967.
