Mamiraua Reserve, Amazonia, Brazil. Flooded tropical rainforest in the Amazon, with clouds overhead. This area of the Amazon is part of the Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, a large area of rainforest on the upper reaches of the Amazon, in the state of Amazonas in western Brazil. The reserve, which floods in the wet season, sustains a huge diversity of plants and wildlife. It was established in 1996, and is listed as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance.
