Knightia fossil fish. This relatively small and slender fish, now extinct, was very abundant in Eocene times. This sample of fossil-bearing chalk is from the Green River formation in Wyoming, USA. The fossils are 7-10 centimetres long, and are seen with a fossilized palm tree stalk.
