The world's largest water wheel powered Henry Burden's iron plant on the Wynantskill River in South Troy, New York. Built in 1851, it was 60 feet in diameter and 22 feet wide, is credited with inspiring the first Ferris Wheel. Etching by Arthur Covey (1877-1960).
