Herschel's double star observations. Page of written observations made on 29-30 May 1821 by the English astronomer John Herschel (1792-1871) at the time of his work on double stars. Herschel, working with James South (mentioned in the notes), was re-examining doubles stars catalogued by his father, William. For this work on double stars, John Herschel received the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1826.
