Subdural haemorrhage. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of an axial section through the brain of a patient with a subdural haemorrhage, bleeding between the membranes (meninges) of the brain. The pressure caused by this bleeding has shifted the brain in the skull towards the left. The bleeding may be caused by a head injury, high blood pressure or vascular disease. Treatment is with surgical drainage of the haematoma and sealing of the bleeding blood vessel.
