Superconductor spin excitation simulation, using data from neutron scattering experiments. This study was performed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) in the USA and the ISIS Facility at the UK's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, supplemented by experiments at ORNL's High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR). Superconductivity is where the structure of a material allows unimpeded flow of electrons, usually only at low temperatures. One research aim is to develop practical superconductivity at higher temperatures. Image published in 2010.
