The in-vitro culture keeps the plants sterile and makes the research more efficient. This research involves producing human recombinant proteins with medical applications, based on the natural proteins produced by carnivorous plants. The protein being studied here is beta-glucuronidase (GUS). This research is being carried out for PATsas, a French biotechnology company.
