Pitcher plant (Nepenthes ventricosa). Pitcher plants lure insects with nectar. Once on the rim of the plant a waxy surface means that the insects cannot grip and fall into the elongated, tubular leaves. Inside the tubes is a mixture of enzymes, secreted by the plant, which digest the fallen insects. This species is native to the Philippines.
