Title page of Argoli's Ephemerides (1659). This book was written by the Italian astronomer and scholar Andrea Argoli (1570-1657). An ephemerides is a table of astronomical data showing the positions of astronomical objects in the sky for a range of different times. On this title page, the text is in Latin and includes the author's name (top), followed by the title lower down, and mention of the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe along with a description of the contents. At bottom are details of the publisher, publication location and publication year. Below this is a stamped mark identifying this as a copy held by the Royal Astronomical Society.
