Butternut squash (Cucurbita moschata). This winter squash has a sweet, nutty taste. It is used in a similar way to pumpkins, being roasted and used in pies and soups. This squash is a good source of vitamins A and C and the minerals potassium and magnesium. Photographed in the autumn in New England, USA.
