Common blue butterfly. Male common blue (Polyommatus icarus) on a flower with its wings closed. Male uppersides are an iridescent lilac blue with a thin black border. Females are usually brown with a row of red spots along the edges and some blue at the base of the wings. Photographed in Kent, UK, in July.
