Dorothea Klumpke/Dorothea Klumpke Roberts (1861-1942).American born astronomer.From 1886 she worked at the Paris Observatory measuring star positions, processing astrophotographs, studying stellar spectra and meteorites. She became the Director of the Bureau of Measurements there in 1891.Dorothea was the first women to win the Prix des Dames from the Society des Astonomique de France (1889); to become an Officier d'Academe of the Paris Academy of Sciences(1893); and to make astronomical observations from above the earth when she was selected to observe the Leonid Meteor Shower from a balloon(1899).In 1901 she married Isaac Roberts. After his death she published \The Isaac Roberts Atlas of 52 Regions, a Guide to William Herschel's Fields of Nebulosity\" (1929). In 1932 she was elected a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneu."
