Sun beams. Anticrepuscular rays converging on the eastern horizon at sunset. These rays of sunlight are similar to crepuscular rays but are seen on the other side of the sky, away from the sun. They are in effect extensions of crepuscular rays and appear to converge due to the curvature of the Earth. Crepuscular rays are caused by sunlight streaming through gaps in clouds.
