A Cucumber tree (Dendrosicyos soctrana) grows in limestone rock in the Dixam area of the Haghir Mountains. This strange endemic species with its swollen trunk and cucumber-like fruit is one of the islandˇs most bizarre botanical curiosities. Another curiosity, the equally bizarre Socotran Desert Rose (adenium obesum sokotranum), can be seen in the background.
