The Haghir Mountains form a spectacular spine in the centre and northwest of Socotra Island. Rising to a height of almost 5,000 feet, they are frequently shrouded in cloud and mist resulting in lush vegetation at higher altitudes. The beautiful Diharo Wadi is fringed with date palms and has a permanent stream running through it, which is an important water resource for many of the islandˇs inhabitants.
