A wooden fishing boat with fish traps in the bow leaves Rwenshama, an important fishing village on the eastern shore of Lake Edward, close to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Hippos can be seen wallowing just offshore. Lake Edward, 2,995 feet above sea level, lies on the floor of the western branch of Africa's Great Rift Valley system and is connected to Lake George by the Kazinga Channel.
