Mount Stanley (16,763 feet) from the top of the Scott Elliot Pass (14,350 feet). Tree Senecios, or Giant Groundsels and everlasting flowers (helicrysum), flourish at this altitude. Margherita Peak of Mount Stanley is the highest of the Rwenzori Mountain Range.The Rwenzori Mountain range is the only snow-covered range south of the Atlas Mountains in sub-Sahara Africa. It has a unique afro-montane vegetation due to a combination of altitude, high rainfall and almost constant cloud-cover with drenching mists.
