Mount Baker (15,889 feet) from the top of the Scott Elliot Pass (14,350 feet) with a tree Senecio, or Giant Groundsel, everlasting flowers (helicrysum) and mosses in the foreground.The Rwenzori Mountain range is the only snow-covered range south of the Atlas Mountains in sub-Sahara Africa. It has a unique afro-montane vegetation due to a combination of altitude, high rainfall and almost constant cloud-cover with drenching mists.
