The aptly named golden monkey (Cercopithecus mitis kandti) is one of the most beautiful monkeys of the African forest. It feeds in the high altitude bamboo zones of the Virunga Volcanoes and Nyungwe Forest. A sub-species of the Blue Monkey, it is considered endangered.
