The Monastery Complex at Takht-I-Bahi, Northwest Pakistan. Kushan period, Gandhara, circa 2nd century AD.The monastery at Takht-I-Bahi (where Takht means seat or throne and Bahi means reservoir) covers an area of about 33 hectares and was first excavated between 1907 and 1909 by D B Spooner. It has since been quite extensively restored but remains one of Pakistan's most important Gandhara sites.
