Two happy Himba girls with appealing hairstyles clap to the rhythm of a dance. Their ornaments include white-beaded necklaces, called ombwari, a tradition of all Himba people. One of them is also wearing a decoration of metal beads backed on leather, embellished with two cowries from Africa's Atlantic Coastline. The Himba are Herero-speaking Bantu nomads who live in the harsh, dry but starkly beautiful landscape of remote northwest Namibia. Purros
