An unspoilt beach just south of the Tana Delta where Kenya's largest river enters the Indian Ocean. The reddish colour of the sand is caused by river silt entering the sea. The huge tree trunk washed onto the beach as driftwood would have been carried down the river by its swollen waters during a period of heavy rain.
