Italy, Sicily, Palermo. The 13th Century Cloisters of San Giovanni delgi Eremiti. It was founded in 1132 in honor of St. John of the Hermits. It was built on the grounds of a mosque and is itself influenced by the Islamic architectural tradition - it is one of the most famous of all the Arab-Norman monuments still standing in Palermo.
