Qutb Minar, Delhi, (it's in the southern fringes of New Delhi but not what most people would consider to be New Delhi). The 72.5m high, 12th century Qutb Minar was build both as a victory tower (celebrating Muslim dominance of Delhi and eventually much of the subcontinent) and a minaret.
