One of Britain's famous red telephone boxes in front of Big Ben, London. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1924, the red boxes are a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom, and despite a reduction in their numbers in recent years, red boxes can still be seen in many places. The colour red was chosen to make them easy to spot.
