View of rooftops covered in snow, in the Old Town, from the Old Town Bridge Tower (dating from 1830) on the eastern end of Charles Bridge. To the left in the foreground is the dome (green) of the Church of St Francis (Kostel Sv Frantiska). This was once part of the monastery of the crusading Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. To the right of the hexagonal dome and pair of spires is the facade of the Holy saviour (Kostel Sv Salvatora), part of the huge Clementinum complex. This church facade dominates the eastern end of the Knights of the Cross Square (Krizovnicke Namesti). It was built in 1601 and has seven large statues of saints by Jan Bendl (1659) and is dramatically lit up at night. To the centre (cream coloured tower) is an observatory tower and behind this in the distance (with a clockface) is the Old Town Hall Tower (Staromestska radnice), built in 1364. The tower is 228 feet (69.5 metres) high and offers spectacular views.
