Tiritiri Matangi Reserve.
Its rarefaction is due to carnivores introduction (Cats, Rats, Hermines,...). Indeed, this bird sleeps on the ground to protect from its former main predator, an Owl (Sceloglaux albifacies) which is now extinct.
