Barn owl and chicks (Tyto alba). This owl lays 5 or 6 eggs, which are incubated for one month before hatching. Once hatched, the young owls are fed on small rodents. The barn owl is distributed throughout every continent of the world except Antarctica. It is usually nocturnal and feeds on insects, frogs and small rodents. Photographed in Surrey, England, UK.
