Harris hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus). Harris hawks are native to the south-western USA and South America, although there are reports of escaped birds breeding in the wild in England. They are birds of prey preferring a habitat of sparse woodland and semi-desert. They have been increasingly used in falconry, and in European towns for scaring pigeons and starlings.
