Blue translucent sea squirt (Rhopalaea sp.). This sea squirt is 3-5 centimetres in length and is found in the Indo-Pacific from Sri Lanka to New Caledonia. It filters plankton from the water current which circulates through it. It is sedentary but has free-swimming larvae. Photographed off Maratua Island, in the Sulawesi Sea, Indonesia.
