Varroa mite (Varroa destructor) on a honeybee drone larva. The varroa mite is an external parasite of the honeybee (Apis mellifera). It feeds on both the brood and adults within a colony, and is the vector of many bee viruses. It is a major pest of commercial bee colonies.
