Honeybee brood frame. Honeybees (Apis mellifera) on a frame from the brood chamber of a hive. The brood frame contains brood comb, a structure consisting of cells made from wax secreted by the bees's bodies. The cells are used to store honey and maturing bee pupae. The cells covered by a white wax substance (top) contain honey while the yellow cells in the middle of the frame contain the bee pupae. The honey in this frame is not collected by the beekeeper.
