Bush cricket shedding skin (family Tettigoniidae). This bush cricket has just shed its skin and is hanging out to dry. Bush crickets undergo an incomplete metamorphosis. The cricket eggs hatch to reveal nymphs, which resemble wingless forms of the adult. The nymph then moults to reveal the imago (adult) insect. Photographed in Yasuni National Park, Amazon rainforest, Ecuador.
