Cave cricket, Deer Cave, Borneo. Cave crickets belong to the Rhaphidophoridae family of crickets. Most species live in caves and other dark, damp environments. They rely on their long antennae and limbs to sense movement and direction. Photographed in Deer Cave, Borneo, the world's largest natural rock chamber. It is home to millions of bats. Their droppings collect on the cave floor and build up to huge heights. The droppings support an ecosystem of animals, known as troglobites.
