Snakelocks anemones (Anemonia sulcata) completely filling a small rock pool. Sea anemones catch their prey by means of stinging tentacles. The tentacles also act as a deterrent to predation. The snakelocks anemone is unusual in that it cannot retract its tentacles. Photographed at Talland Bay, Cornwall, UK.
