NASA'S Columbia supercomputer. The Columbia supercomputer is located at the NASA Ames Research Center, California, USA. It is powered by 10,024 processors and has a processing power of 50 Teraflops (one teraflop equals one trillion, or 10 to the power of 12, operations per second). Built in 2004, it is used for various NASA projects, including aeronautics and astrophysics simulations. In November 2005, the Columbia supercomputer was the fourth fastest in the world.
