Observatory of Charles A. Post. Charles Alfred Post (1844-1921) served in the civil war in the Twenty-second regiment New York Volunteers, and later in the navy. He then studied at the Columbia Law School and became a lawyer. Only later in life did he take up the study of astronomy in his own private observatory (seen here).
