Library of St Gall's Abbey, Switzerland. This is a world-famous medieval library with over 160,000 books, 500 of which are over 1000 years old. The abbey itself dates from 613 AD, though most of the surviving buildings date from the 18th century. The abbey is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
