Jules Charles Toussaint Vedrines (1881-1919), French aviator. Vedrines obtained his pilot's license in 1910, and then proceeded to win the Paris-Madrid air race in 1911. In 1913, he flew from Paris to Cairo in several stages. He carried out special missions during World War I. He died on 21 April 1919 when his plane crashed during a flight from Paris to Rome.
