Harold Knox-Shaw (1885-1970), British astronomer. Knox-Shaw's early work was carried out in Egypt. Realising the unsuitability of the English weather for astronomy work, he oversaw the move of the Radcliffe Observatory from Oxford to South Africa. He was Radcliffe Observer at the University of Oxford (1924-1939), and President of the Royal Astronomical Society (1931-1932).
