Tyrannosaurus rex renovation. Technician welding metal support armature onto the foot of a fossilised Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex). This dinosaur is being renovated at Phil Fraley Productions, USA. The dinosaur skeleton is taken apart, bone by bone, and, after renovation, will be re-mounted as a new display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The original T-rex exhibit was mounted over 100 years ago in a posture that is now thought to be incorrect. The new display will feature the T-rex skeleton posed as if fighting over a fresh kill. Photographed in 2007.
