Alpine daisy. Daisies (family Asteraceae) are a widespread family of flowering plants. Their flower heads consist of outer petal-like ray florets (here, white, tinged with red), and a central mass of disc florets (here, yellow). The disc florets are the true flowering parts that are involved in pollen production and seed formation. Photographed in Switzerland.
